I Won't Leave You

I hardly do traditional art nowadays due to lack of time. This one's just a quick and random thing that I came up with out of boredom. Watercolors, pencil, pastel, markers.

I just finished replaying Chrono Cross and relived one of the most enjoyable games I've played. It's a beautiful and sad story at the same time. [SPOILER] In the end, when everything was back in order, Serge was returned in his home world and he remembered nothing --- well, in the game, he did mention a few places but the one and only person who was there was Leena and she knows nothing about what he's talking about. Serge won't know whether it was all a dream or if it was real. If you haven't played this game, yet, where have you been?!?!?! Go play it.

As the game came to a close, Kid told Serge that she would find him, somewhere, some other time. Quoted from Kid's journal:

"We loved so many, yet hated so much.
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
Whilst our laughter echoed,
Under cerulean skies..."

"Thus the curtain closes on another tale.

An eternity has passed...
Fleeting dreams fade into the distance...
All that is left now
Is me and my memories...

But I'm sure we'll meet again,
Someday, you and I...
Another place, another time.

It's just that we might not realize
That you are you and I am me...

Let us open the door to the great unknown,
Come across another reality,
And live another today...
Even when the story has been told.

This is a scene in the game when Serge was sent in the past to save Kid from burning in the orphanage. The young Kid was crying because everyone she loved had died in that fire. She asked if he would leave, too. It's your choice in the game, actually, but I'm a Serge x Kid fan, so of course I chose "I won't leave you."
